Obituary of Robert Van Mechelen

On September 2nd, 2018, Robert, at the age of 74 passed away with his two children at his bedside. Predeceased by his loving wife Johanna, father to Marco and (wife Elizabeth) Van Mechelen, and Chantele and (husband Ian) Tooley. Robert had 5 grandkids whom he loved, Aidan, Joshua, Liam, Braeden and Gavin. Robert was born in Amsterdam, and is predeceased by both of his parents and 1 brother Jan, he has 2 brothers Simon and Tom living in Holland. Robert was loved by his sister in-law Tiné and Gerald (predeceased) DeVos, and Elly and Simon Schaap of Kingston; as well as his many nieces and nephews in Kingston and Holland. Robert, also known as ‘Bobby Van’ was a lover of Classical and Jazz music. His loved spending time in his garden, and in his photography room. The family have decided to have a private ceremony to honour Robert at a later date. Donations can be made to ‘The Dementia and Alzheimer’s Association of Canada’.
