This very sad news came to my attention recently. Hugh was a very dear friend of mine many years ago. His mother and I had a special rapport that I will always cherish. He was kind, considerate, capable and fun to be with. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Terribly saddened to hear about Hugh's battle with cancer and his passing. When Hugh and I were not much older than 10-12 years old, Hugh's and my parents and our families were quite close spending a lot of time together on Bark Lake, at family regatta's, corn roasts...etc. While age, life, and different cities apart grabs hold and takes us all in separate directions, I have especially fond memories of Hugh in those early years and again as adults when our paths occasionally crossed. Rest well and be at peace old friend, and heartfelt condolences to all of Hugh's family.

My heart goes out to all the Mcvie family at this time. We are lifetime friends of Catherine and Fraser Mcvie who regaled us constantly with stories of playing golf and pool with Vicki and Hugh right up until this past fall.
