Obituary of Michael McAuley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Michael “Mike” McAuley on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at 2:55 p.m. Mike was the cherished son of Trish and Greg McAuley, beloved brother of Sarah McAuley and brother-in-law Josh Woods, high school sweetheart and lifelong partner of Lynne Mason, son-in-law to Karen and Phil Mason, extremely proud and dedicated father to Zoe and Grady McAuley, brother-in-law to Jeff Mason (Karen Sisson) and adored uncle to McAuley “Mac” Woods, Audrey and George Mason. We all lost a man who had a contagious laugh and an unforgettable booming voice that could be heard before he could be seen. During the summer Mike could be found at the ball diamond being the life of the party and always had a wise crack for anyone that crossed his path. He had a huge, loving and kind heart. He was also ready and willing to help out anyone at the drop of a dime. His greatest and most cherished things in life were his children Zoe and Grady. He was their mentor/role model but most importantly their most dedicated supporting fan! Mike had a love of family that was apparent in everything that he did. He will be forever missed and loved. His legacy of living life to the fullest and enjoying every minute of life will live on forever. We are happy to let you know that his love of life did not end with his death. Through his organ donation, he has given two people the hope of a long, happy life. We will be Celebrating Mike’s Amazing Life on Saturday, July 28th, 2018 at the Kingston Curling Club on Front Road from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. All you need to bring are your memories and larger than life stories of Mike to share.
