Obituary of William Hendry

Passed on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the age of 88 at Kingston General Hospital after a long illness. He was the youngest son of Jack and Janet Hendry, brother to Jim, Jean, and Robert. He grew up in Haileybury and Geraldton Ontario. He is dearly missed by his devoted wife of 64 years, Barbara, his sons James (Lynne Graves) and Russell, and daughter Cathy Martin (Bryan), his grandchildren Susan, Janet Vardy (Steve), Connie, James and William Martin, Brook and Morgan Hendry, and his treasured great-grandchildren Adelyn and Thomas Vardy. Bill graduated from Queen's University in 1950 as an electrical engineer. He worked for Inco in Sudbury, the Ontario Department of Mines (Kirkland Lake, Peterborough, Sudbury) and many years for the Ministry of Natural Resources in Thunder Bay. He was an avid golfer, curler, fisherman, and hunter among his other varied interests and hobbies. The family would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff at KGH Emergency Department, and Kidd 9 for their kind and thoughtful care of Bill. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on November 12 at St. Marks Anglican Church, 268 Main St, Barriefield Village, Kinston, Ontario.
