Obituary of Johanna Engalina Van Mechelen

On Sunday, November 15, 2015, Johanna (Joké) passed away unexpectedly, at home, with her beloved husband Robert at her side. Cherished mother of Marco (Elizabeth) Van Mechelen and Chantele (Ian) Tooley. Treasured grandmother of Aidan, Joshua, Liam, Braeden and Gavin. Loved by her sister Elly (Simon) Schapp and sister in-law Tiné De Vos. Predeceased by brother Gerald De Vos. Johanna will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Micheala, Angela, Kevin, Leonard, and Sheila. Joké loved all of her family and friends very much. We all loved and will miss her funny sense of humor, her sweet and loving disposition, and the way she sang Dutch Lullabies, Josh Groban and Celine Dion. Thank you to all of her lovely friends and caretakers in Smiths Falls! You are welcome to join us at the Strathcona Park Presbyterian Church (244 McMahon Avenue, Kingston) on Friday, November 20, 2015 for a Memorial Service to celebrate her life at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the church hall.
