Obituary of William M. Downey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Downey in his 77th year after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He’s survived by his loving wife Vivian, devoted son Dennis (Susan), granddaughter Ciara (Brandon) and step grandchildren Kristen and Matthew Allen. He will be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norman Meyers (Mary), Anne Meinema (Jake), Tina Andela (Louis), Bill Meyer (Bobby), Rick Meyers (Caroline) and his many nieces and nephews. Bill worked for many years for both the Frontenac County School Board and Ryerson University. Many thanks to the staff at KGH Cancer Clinic, LHIN and Providence Care for the compassionate care provided.Cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be held at FIRST CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH (CRC), 310 Kingscourt Avenue, Kingston on Wednesday, October 23rd from 2 pm to 4 pm. Funeral Service will be held at FIRST CRC on Thursday, October 24th at 11 am with refreshments to follow. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
