I just heard this morning via facebook about Bob's death. I have very fond memories of him at Malcolm Campbell. On one occasion our class locked out the teacher as an April Fool's joke and we had the teachers at bay until Bob pounded on the door and said in a loud voice, "It's Mr. Saul and you'd better let me in!!!" (He was Vice Principal.) We decided we had better let him in upon which he stormed in and said in a loud voice, "What do you think you're doing?!!" and followed it with "April Fool" in almost a whisper.
Bob was a remarkable man and teacher. He was a major influence in the career paths of many of us who were privileged to have met him. It was a pleasure to have spent time with Bob and Betty last year in Kingston, delighting in the stories of our time under Bob's leadership. Our condolences to Betty and the Saul family. He will be fondly remembered. Dawn & Bill Ott
