Obituary of Adele Elizabeth Snyder

Adele passed away peacefully at Kingston General Hospital Monday, Dec. 26, 2016. Adele (née Greer) grew up in Quebec’s Eastern Townships. She attended the McDonald College of McGill University where she obtained her degree in home economics. She married Harold Snyder from Shawinigan in 1953. They lived in Toronto, Montreal and St. John’s, eventually retiring to Stanstead, Que., and then settling in Kingston. Adele was a wonderful mother and she approached life with a great sense of adventure and humour — especially where Polynya (the sailboat) was concerned. She worked as a schoolteacher and was an active community volunteer.Fond memories of Adele’s laughter and hugs will be forever in the memory of her five children — Greg, Joyce, Margot, Christine and Dick — and her 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild. She leaves her sister Dorothy Flitton and brother Alan Greer; she was predeceased by brother Ron Greer. According to Adele’s wishes, there will be no service. Family and friends will gather in Stanstead for remembrance this summer. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
