Obituary of Albert William Davis
Albert William Davis passed away peacefully on October 25th, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. A man of profound kindness and wisdom, Albert touched countless lives with his gentle spirit and heart of gold.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Susan (Ed) and Gordon, who carry forward his legacy of warmth and resilience. He was the proud grandfather of Bruce and Jenn (Ryan) and cherished great-grandfather to Jean-Simon (Chloe), Coralee (Brandon), and Rochelle (Zackary). His joy multiplied through his great-great-grandchildren, Iris and Jax, who were blessed by his unconditional love and enduring example. Albert's nephew, Stephen Vermeer, was particularly dear to him, providing devoted support and companionship over the past years—a bond that brought Albert immense comfort.
Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eloise (nee Rescorla). Remarkably, Albert departed this life on what would have been their 73rd wedding anniversary, a testament to the enduring love that bound their souls. Their love story was one of quiet strength and grace, a partnership that inspired all who knew them. He is also reunited in rest with his parents, Fred and Ada, and his siblings Harold (Gert), Evelyn (George), George (Kay), Doris, Jack (Orize), and Robert (Betty).
Albert spent over 30 years of dedicated service at the Royal Military College of Canada, where his reputation for respect, diligence, and humility left a lasting mark. Beyond work, Albert was a man of nature, with a love for travel, camping, fishing and hunting—joys he shared generously with family and friends. He was also a passionate sports fan, with a love for curling, baseball, football, and hockey, bringing boundless enthusiasm to every game he followed.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff of Crestview Terrace at Rideaucrest who supported Albert with exceptional care and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's memory may be made to Rideaucrest Home. In honor of their invaluable kindness and support.
Albert’s life was a beacon of love, wisdom, and steadfast devotion. He will forever be missed and remembered by all whose lives he touched.
