To Aunt Jean Soper:
Although our family lived far away from the Jim & Jean Soper Soper Family, I remember with great fondness when you & Uncle Jim came west to Vancouver with Nancy, Mary, Daphne & Ian to holiday with the Bob & June Soper Family. It was such a delight to meet our Eastern cousins for the first time!
There was such a striking parallel between the two families, with the Western Sopers also having 4 children (3 boys & a girl) and us being so close in age! These enduring family friendships have remained to where we were wishing you a Happy 106th birthday earlier this year, through your loving children - celebrating with you in Kingston.
Reflecting over the parallels in our families, what stands out to me is the incredibly selfless role of you and my mother in being so devoted to developing character, discipline, and the mantra to strive to be all that we could be while growing up.
In conclusion, it's also not lost on any of us who knew you, and my mother, the devotion you both applied to nurturing a lifelong marriage.
With love from your nephew, Barry (& Louise) Soper

Very sorry to hear about the loss of Aunt Jean. I remember how kind she was to me when I traveled from B.C. out to Ontario to attend Queens University in 1979. Aunt Jean and Uncle Jim drove me to Kingston and settled me in to my Residence. Aunt Jean always had a beautiful smile and took interest in whatever I was up to. I will always remember her warm spirit and devotion to her family. A life well lived for sure! Sending lots of love from our family to yours! Meg Pigott (Soper)
