Obituary of Sue Waddell

Sue passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Kingston Health Sciences Centre - KGH surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 6-year battle with Ovarian Cancer. Born in Kingston to Bryan and Dorothy, Sue brought immense joy to those around her.

Her courageous journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Waddell, her 3 children, Lorraine Boyd, Wendy Rideout (John), Douglas Stockwell (Carrie); 4 grandsons’ Andrew Lyon, Michael Lyon (Brianna), Jaydon Irish, Jimmy Boyd; brother, Murray Gorham (Joyce); sister, Nancy Bryant; nieces and nephews and close friends, will forever hold dear her memory.

Her family would like to express a special thanks to all the amazing nurses at the Kingston Cancer Centre who, over the past 6 years, had afforded her exemplary care, all she held in the highest regards. Her family doctor, Dr. Suzanne Shephard for all her support over the years, and to the medical staff of Kidd 2-ICU who went above and beyond to ensure that Sue had a comfortable and peaceful transition and for the caring of her family a most dignifying way during their time of grief.

A private service for immediate family only, to honor and celebrate Sue’s life will be held. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that expressions of sympathy memorial contributions in memory of Sue may be made to UHKF (Cancer Centre of SE Ontario).
