Dear Mrs. Hubbard and family.
Words cannot adequately express the sorrow you are feeling at the loss of Bob, or the collective condolences extended to you at this time.
- Bob's laughter and voice still ring in your ears.
- His smile and shining eyes still alive in your mind's eye.
My prayer for you is that you will always remember the stories, the walks in the park, the family dinners; Bob the history buff, the dreamer, policical commentator and traveller.
I met Bob over 40 years ago through a mutual friend, Connie Rosario. We enjoyed numerous conversations, covering many topics from history to music to travel and back again. We lost touch for several decades, and only reconnected just over a year ago. I feel so blessed to still call him "friend"; even after all that time apart. We just picked up where we left off...talking, laughing, sharing memories, photos and real life stories.
Bob's fight is finished, he ran the race with his whole heart and he is truly missed by all who were privileged to know him.
My heartfelt condolences at your loss.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family and friends. I went to school with Bob, but he became a life long friend with my Mom, Jean, through their mutual interest and active participation in politics. Mom passed in 2011 and I know she will be there to meet Bob on the other side where I am sure they will catch up on all the news and solve all of the problems in the world. RIP Bob. The world is a better place because you were a part of it.

Bob was my Mom Barbara's best friend, he was her person. I've always admired this man and have alot of respect for him. I'm sooo grateful that I've stayed in touch with him even after my Mom's passing 8 years ago. Anyone who has had Bob in their life, should feel very privileged. He was one of a kind. I still cannot imagine a world without Bob in it. His overall atittude about life is to be admired and we should all learn from that. The world has definitely become a bit dimmer since losing him. He was always so full of sooo many amazing stories, and any time he would talk, he had this voice that you just wanted to listen, and hang on to every single word he said.

On Sunday, November 5 I lost my best friend Robert (Bob) Hubbard to cancer! It does not seem real but it is…no more texts, messenger messages, phone calls or Facebook posts. No more walking adventures captured in pictures! Only treasured memories that began on the first day of Grade Nine at LCVI. Bob asked me to be his locker partner and well the rest is history. Our journeys took us through high school, university and beyond. Many trips over the years to Florida, California, Bahamas and many places across Canada! We were real history buffs who also enjoyed politics! We even attended the ‘76 Olympics in Montreal. I could always count on Bob to organize, advise and to have fun as well in many of my political campaigns for municipal or school board offices. We oftened joked that we both should write a book about the Liberal Party in Kingston. This Thursday that locker door of many fond memories that will last a lifetime will be closed forever! It has been said you don’t choose your family but you get to choose your friends. Well on that September day in Grade Nine I definitely got a friend for life! Rest in peace Bob till we meet again!

To Mrs. Hubbard & Family,
I want to express my deepest sympathies for the loss of your son, brother and Uncle, Bob. In memory of Bob, I knew him to live a life full of laughter, love, unwavering faith, and cherished friendships. Bob’s final lesson, to find hope even in the darkest moments is a lasting inspiration. He fought valiantly until the end. I will miss Bob's gentle, kind-hearted soul who lived with gratitude, embraced joy, saw goodness all around him and in others, was forgiving and cherished life. As a friend said, "Our world will be different without Bob."
With heartfelt condolences,
Connie Rosario
