I’ve struggled with writing something since found out, and sorry for that reason too, I have not reached out to you all!
I loved your mom, she was a great friend, one of my first friends I met when my late husband and two youngest boys moved here from Brampton, over 20 years ago! Her kindness shown to us over years was so wonderful!
Kathy was always there with a kind word. She helped me out so many times! She took over being mom to my little beautiful Suzie kitty, when my son moved to Toronto and I had to sell my house and couldn’t take my girl! She loved Suzie and Suzie loved and adored Kathy! Sadly Suzie passed a few months ago and I know how upset Kathy was and how concerned she was for Suzie, when she herself took ill again. I will be eternally grateful for her loving our Suzie. But oh my, our boy Baxter loved stopping at Kathy’s to see her, he would cry all the way to door, he just wanted a hug from kathy and maybe catch a glimpse of his sister Suzie.
Kathy, I will never forget you, I thought I didn’t have any tears left in this old body, but they haven’t stopped since the terrible news came to me. So worried for so long, this news would come.
RIP my dear, so loved friend! No words could ever express how I feel!
Go with God!
Til we meet again!
Love Sheila and family
Ps. Unfortunately this breaks my heart but I won’t be able to attend today as we will be out of town, but I will be thinking of you all!
Hugs Sheila

I have many fond memories of Kathy, and I'm so grateful to have spent so much of my childhood time in her home and in her presence. My heart goes out to all of you, Karen, Steve, and Scott, and to all of Kathy's grandchildren. She was a lovely, kind and gentle lady and I know she will be greatly missed. Much love.

Dear Steve , Karen and Scott,
Our words can not soften for you the loss of your mother; they can only try. She was a special lady, never seeking attention, always compassionate and welcoming. She was the substance of and commitment to her community. Even more, to us on the outside, she was the core of her family life and her dedication to it never wavered.. As a neighbor we could not have asked for a better person.
God will grant her the grace she deserves.

Dear Koopman family. We were most saddened to read about the passing of Kathy. She was a a true pillar of our former Pittsburgh Township (now Kingston East), as was her husband Russell who I knew well as an acquaintance especially during my political and community service years. It really is people Kathy and Russell who make a community a place to feel warm about calling it your home and not just a place to live. To the entire family and to Steve, Karen and Scott in particular, you have and continue to do your parents proud and yes, the apples did not fall far from the tree. Hugs and condolences to all from Carl, Fran and Aaron Holmberg

The neighbourhood seems a little empty without this special lady.
