Obituary of Michael James Lovie

On Monday, December 12, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, Michael peacefully passed away in his 79th year.

Michael was the beloved husband of Frances (nee McGinty) for 56 years, loving father of Paul (Angela), Pamela (Steven), cherished grandpa of Mackenzie, Kaitlyn and Connor. Dear brother of Margaret (Gilbert). Predeceased by his parents William and Nelle, and his two brothers Bill and Sandy (Alice). He will always be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, other family and friends in Canada, Scotland, and Australia. Michael and his family travelled the world, calling many places home making Canada his final home. He loved playing bridge, golf and watching formula one, but his true passion was his family. He would do anything for the people he loved, especially his grandchildren who brought him great joy.

We would like to thank the Davies 4 and Connell 9 staff for their devoted care and thoughtfulness shown towards our family during such a difficult time. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on December 17th at 11am from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 392 Palace Road. Reception to follow in the church hall. Service will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/l33risqu5b8.
