My condolences to the Jeffrey family. I had the great pleasure of working with Liz at KGH, in cardiology and CCU. Liz was a gracious lady and nurse. She was thoughtful, kind, efficient, and practical. She cared for the whole of the person, not just their given illness. Her smile, calming eyes, and quiet nature, gave reassurance to both patient and staff. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My condolences to all of you. I read of Liz’s illness and death yesterday and it brought a flood of memories of our work together in Halifax so many years (yes nearly 3 decades) ago. Liz was a wonderful research assistant for us in our nursing research on the effects of social support for families living with a child with a chronic condition. I was saddened to read of Elizabeth’s passing in the weekend paper. I never knew Elizabeth well (she was always my friend Jon’s little sister in those days). I would like to pass on my condolences to her family and to her brother John. She obviously lead a full life and I am sure she leaves behind many pleasant memories for all her knew her to cherish.

To John, Laura, Bradley, and family. I can think of no words that might soothe the sadness in your hearts. Liz was a very special person and all who she touched were better people for just knowing her. I will cherish the never-ending support and loving friendship we shared for so many years. Liz put the wind beneath my wings and showed me how high I could fly. I will miss our long talks, shared lunches of salmon sandwiches and caramilk bars, and the big dream of partnering in a horse farm someday. Liz, I see you there in the warm sunshine, picking away at your garden while watching your horses run freely in the landscape. My mentor, my friend, I love you and miss you. Always and forever, your friend Penny.

We were fortunate to meet Elizabeth a few years ago. She was a a charming, gregarious individual who had an opinion on many things. It was a pleasure to get to know her. While I did not work with Liz at KGH, we would meet in the hallways and talk about Winston and my horse Mystic, We met while I was riding Mystic at Bev Mill’s riding stables in Odessa. Liz would be there watching her daughter Laura riding Winston. Our meetings were always a delight and a chance to catch up with our love of horses. She was a very devoted and friendly person.
