My memories of Don and I are mainly when we were both Albert College students between 1947 and 1952, active competitors and friends academically, athletically and socially, as I see it now, living in a privileged, challenging and fulfilling environment few our age could aspire to. We came, we saw and we conquered. One Sheperdson vignette that stands out was the delicious Graham cracker pie Shep's mother served our Albert basketball team participating in the 1952 Queen's tournament at which we won the C section championship.
