Obituary of Jack William George Hanna
Passed away peacefully in his 71st year on May 30, 2021 with his stepdaughter Amber by his side. Survived by his wife Teresa Hanna, sisters Sandra Haffie (Donald) and Nancy Barber (Grant), stepdaughters Erin Firlotte (David), Amber McFadden (Kevin) and grandchildren Samantha and Alexander. Also survived by his nephews Mark Hanna, Michael Astleford, David and Joshua Barber. Special great uncle to Taylor Hanna (Matthew) and great-great uncle to Harrison and Cameron. Predeceased by his brothers Ross (Elaine) and Jeff (Christine). After Jack's good friend Dan passed away, he became a special person in the lives of his sons Casey Astles (Dayle) and their daughter Marnie and Daniel Astles (Kailey) and their daughter Claire. Jack was also very fortunate to have a caregiver, Jan Tait who helped him immensely during the past year of his life. Jack worked many years in construction in the North, the West and in Ottawa as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish, especially ice fishing. After loving life on his farm for more than 20 years, he joked "I'm moving into a new apartment at a familiar place, The Jasper Hotel". Cremation has taken place. Honorary pall bearers: Brian McCabe, Kevin Hamilton, Gordie Carley, Billy Carley, Randy Earle, Trevor McNamee, Casey Astles, and Daniel Astles. A gathering to honour Jack will be held at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited in Jack's name. Arrangements entrusted to CATARAQUI CEMETERY AND FUNERAL SERVICES.
