I was sorry to hear of Bill's death. He and I attended many historical meetings and always were comfortable in each other's company. We had a particular interest in George Patterson, who scored the first goal of the Toronto Maple Leafs. George was my second cousin. Bill was a first-class historian and the expert on Hockey, as well as being a nice man, and a Canadian veteran. Please accept my condolences, Bill Patterson, I will miss him.
